We've released a major update for our Excel Cash Book Template - the Cash Book System, version 3.01.
This update was done at the request of Keith from Heywood Accounting, via a Development Desk Request here.
This is personally branded and available for business members and purchasers of the system and is available from the downloads area.
A trial version is now also available on the Cash Book System details page.
Enhancements
Sales and Purchase Ledgers
A simple and easy way for businesses to keep records for Customers and Suppliers. These are both optional and automatically enabled or disabled with a click.
The transaction processing has been kept simple for all users. Once a item type is selected such as invoice, payment or receipt, it will automatically set the account choice to be either an receipt/payment account or a payment method type.
Additional error checking functions are included to check accounts are selected when needed.
Summary Aged Debtor and Creditor reports also show balances outstanding at a glance
Unlimited Add and Insert Accounts
All payments and receipts (income and expenses), methods of payment, customers and suppliers can have additional ones added or inserted at any time. To insert, just select where you want the item(s) inserted, click the add button and choose how many. Drop-down selections and reports are automatically adjusted for the new ones.
Profit and Loss Summary
With the new Sales and Purchase Ledgers, there is now a Profit and Loss Summary report in addition to the Cash Flow Summary.
Analysis Summary Period Filter
The Analysis Summary can now be filtered to show any month in the year, as well as the total via a simple drop-down box selection.
Other minor improvements
Significant changes and improvements have been made to the code behind the system, for a more efficient Excel template. We've also added clearer, more common and relevant sample data to demonstrate how the system works which can be instantly cleared from the CBS menu item.
