I transfer sales invs from another software to sage 50 a link file.CSV, from import\audit trial\sage001.csv to sales ledger. but last Fri it was failed and asking for extra field whichis field11 exchange rate colum. normorlly it left blank.

I think someone has changed CSV file structures(audit trail transactions)

how can i find out who has changed it and where to change back the structures? or you may think there is something else caused this?

pls adv.

Jim

Have you upgraded your installation of Sage since you last imported your invoices?

Have you added a column to your csv file?

If you need to put something in the exchange rate field, and only work in one currency, then use 1.0.

hi Liz,

we didn't upgrad sage, because don't have sage cover.

we did not need column 11 for the past half year, but now i have to put exchange rate 1.0 to column 11 for all sterling invs. we still have massive usd dollar invs, i can't transfer them.

So, are you saying that the only thing that has changed since you last successfully imported your invoices is the fact that you now have US dollar invoices?

Hi Jim

Just to add... it is probably worth opening that latest CSV file that's causing the grief in Excel (as a comma delimited file) and comparing it to a previous file that worked without these issues.  It might help you see if anything has changed with the format/structure of the file.
